That's the million dollar question every home buyer is trying to answer. Depending on who you decide to listen to, the answer will vary: the national media will tell you we have yet to reach the bottom of this real estate slide and you should continue to wait; real estate agents will tell you that this is the ideal time to buy because prices and mortgage rates are extremely low.

In my opinion, there is no single answer that is correct for all home buyers. The national media is telling you about national trends ... yet, we should all know by now that real estate is local - national housing trends don't mean anything to the dynamics of our local neighborhoods. Real estate agents that tell every buyer they cross paths with that now is a great time to buy are simply trying to make sales - they are not, unfortunately, taking a consultative approach to working with that buyer.
